Dear Friends

Greetings to you in the name our Lord Jesus.

It is my honour to welcome you to the website of the Leeward Islands District of the Methodist Church in the Caribbean and the Americas. Thanks to the devoted team of committed and talented young adults of our District assisted by others.

While this is not the first attempt at establishing a website for the District, it is highly commendable that this initiative is lead by the youth of our church –  a step in the right direction.

The mission of the Methodist Church – Leeward Islands District is to “create an enabling spiritual environment where personal relationships with Jesus Christ are renewed, faith is deepened, and responsive programmes and ministries positively impact lives and livelihoods.”

The Leeward Island District of the Methodist Church is the largest of the eight Districts that comprise the Methodist Church in the Caribbean and the Americas (MCCA) with an average membership of fourteen thousand.

Our  multiple lingual -  multinational District stretches from the  British Virgin Islands in the north to Dominica in south,   skipping down  to the Dutch islands of Aruba and Curaçao located close to the equator, and crossing the Atlantic to Holland.

Yet we are bound together by “the love of Christ [ that ] “constrains us,”  in a strong sense of connexionalism and an unbreakable bond of history.

Despite our differences we are one in the Spirit; we are one in the Lord!  Our goal remains the same. “to spread scriptural holiness throughout land and to reform the nation(s).”

I trust that this website will provide provide information, insight into the District, but most of all, will enable us to maintain our link with Christ and his church.

Again, welcome!
